Youth sports provide tremendous opportunities to teach teamwork, discipline, resilience, and responsibility. However, athletics also brings challenges – disappointing losses, limited playing time, difficult conversations, and the pressures of competition. How parents respond to these experiences can have a lasting impact on their child’s development and enjoyment of sports.
That is why we are excited to partner with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to offer The Power of Positive Sports Parenting, a parent workshop on Tuesday, November 10, at 6:00 PM in the MPR.
This workshop will provide practical strategies for supporting athletes through both success and adversity, communicating effectively, building positive relationships with coaches, and helping young people develop confidence and independence.
This workshop is for every sports parent. Whether your child is playing their first season or has competed for years, there is something valuable to learn. Even the most experienced and supportive parents can benefit from new perspectives and practical tools. When parents and coaches work together, athletes enjoy a more positive experience, coaches can focus on developing their teams, and our entire athletics community becomes stronger.
